Overview
Baja at the University of Calgary designs, builds and races an off-road vehicle. As Senior Software Developer I look after the software that keeps the team running, from its public face to the data coming off the car.
Website, store and onboarding
I design and maintain the full-stack team website with Git, Cloudflare, Svelte, HTML/CSS, JavaScript and Python. That covers the main club site at ucbaja.ca, the merchandise store and a new-member onboarding and interview platform that moves applicants from sign-up to interview.
Infrastructure
The team's shared resources run on UGOS, Docker and Google Drive. I administer that cloud setup at 97% uptime for more than 60 members, and optimized container management cut access latency and data loss by 30%.
Web-Dash telemetry
I am building a web telemetry dashboard that turns on-car sensor data into a live race view: GPS, accelerometer, temperature, RPM, voltage and oil pressure, plus derived lap times, distance, CVT ratio and rollover risk. It follows the embedded logging format, polls the live log, raises threshold alerts and maps the car on the UCalgary practice track.
